About
Genuine Design Review is for readers who want to understand how design works, not just decide whether they like the look of something. We examine graphics, objects, interiors, architecture and design history through the choices that shape use and meaning.
What we look at
A page hierarchy, a handle, a room layout or a building entrance can all reveal how design meets its audience. We explain the choices behind these forms and consider what they help, what they complicate and what a different choice might change.
Who it is for
The publication is for curious general readers, whether you work with design or simply want to notice more in the things and spaces around you. No specialist vocabulary is required; when a term helps, we explain it.
A curious, candid approach
Design rarely has one answer that suits every context. We favour close observation, clear explanations and fair comparisons over grand claims. We welcome experiments, including the ones that do not quite work.
